Information we collect

If you ask for early access on this site, we collect the email address and the description of your season that you submit.

If you use the app, we store the account you sign in with — an email address, or the identifier Apple or Google gives us when you use Sign in with Apple or Google — along with your time zone and the time you have asked to be reminded.

We also store the answers you give when you set up your reading and whenever you tell us something has changed: your relationship situation, the season you are in, your life stage, whether you are parenting, where you are with faith, and, optionally, your gender. Those answers are what the reflection and the practices are written against; they are not used for anything else.

Alongside those, we keep the day's reading as it was served to you, which of the three practices you have ticked off, your chosen palette, appearance and text size, and — if you turn on the morning notification — the push token for each device you use.

How we use your information

We use your email to write to you about Wake With Grace and, if you have asked for it, to send the morning notification. We use your setup answers to choose which reflection you are served and which three practices come with it. We use your palette and text size so the app opens looking the way you left it, on any device you sign in to.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use what you tell us about your season for advertising.

Data storage and security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

You can change any of your setup answers at any time from Settings in the app. You can turn the morning notification off from your device's own notification settings, or by signing out. You may ask us for a copy of your data at any time by writing to us. If you asked for early access and would rather we forgot, tell us and we will remove your address from the list.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account, and everything in it, at any time. There are two ways:

1. In the app. Tap the settings icon in the top-right corner of the Today screen, scroll to the bottom, and tap Delete account. Once you confirm, your account is deleted immediately.
2. By email. Write to hello@wakewithgrace.com from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. We will verify it is you and complete the deletion within 30 days.

What we delete

Deleting your account permanently removes your sign-in details; the answers you gave about your season and situation; your reading history, including which practices you ticked off; your palette, appearance and text size; your subscription record; and the push tokens for every device you signed in on. This cannot be undone.

What we may keep, and for how long

• Residual copies may briefly remain in our encrypted backups after deletion from our live systems, until those backups are overwritten during our routine rotation.
• The reflections and practices themselves are written for a cohort of readers, not for you individually, and they stay in our content library after you leave. Nothing in them identifies you.
• If you made a purchase, Apple, Google, and our payments processor keep their own transaction records under their own retention policies. We do not control that data, and deleting your Wake With Grace account does not delete it.
• We may retain limited information where the law requires it, or as needed to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.
• We may keep de-identified or aggregated information that can no longer be used to identify you.

Children

Wake With Grace is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page.
